BRISBANE, Queensland, Australia – A new alliance of Australian and Wyoming leaders has wrapped up a two-day conference in the Land Down Under on the future of clean coal.
The conference, titled “Clean Coal Technologies: Queensland and Wyoming – the case for cooperation,” was designed to discuss ways the two large coal-producing nations can work together to advance and promote clean coal technologies worldwide.
Queensland produces most of the coal in Australia, which is the world’s largest coal exporting nation, while Wyoming is the leading coal producer in the United States, the world’s second-largest coal producer.
“By combining our intellectual and policy firepower, we will resolve outstanding research and development challenges and improve the prospects of worldwide take-up of clean coal technologies,” said Queensland Minister for Mines and Energy Geoff Wilson.
