CTL projects are being planned with the US Air Force (USAF) leading the way in its rapid development of projects to produce additional diesel and jet fuel to help meet its goal of supplementing 50% of its needs with FT fuels by 2016.
"We have enough coal in this country, at present consumption, to last us 250 years," NJ State Senator Joe Pennacchio said. "It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out we need to utilize it. We can gasify coal and convert it into liquid fuels. We know we can, it is proven technology, but it has to be done cleanly."
