Hiking Schumate Hollow… or what’s left of it

Posted on May 27, 2008 | By | 4 Comments

The photos in this post I took over the Memorial Day weekend. The first photo – I was thinking, Beauty and the Beast.

I hate to waste a good title but unfortunately hiking Schumate Hollow is no longer an option.

Our remnants of wilderness will yield bigger values to the nation’s character and health than they will to its pocketbook, and to destroy them will be to admit that the latter are the only values that interest us. – Aldo Leopold

Thanks Nick – there isn’t much left of it that’s for sure.

    WOW—great job Denny—
Shumate goes way back in my family—one of my relatives was the last to leave Shumate–

    This is pure evil

Hollergirl – pure evil is right. I actually can no longer tell where Schumate ends and Clay’s Branch and Drews Creek begin.
