Blankenship Shows True Colors To ABC News

This story is the buzz at the moment in the stop mountaintop removal community.
Coal Boss: If You Take Photos, ‘You’re Liable to Get Shot’
I’ve mentioned on blogs a few times about bully tactics from the friends of coal and I have called them bullies on numerous occasions. This story is the perfect example of what I am talking about. If Blankenship will push a major news network reporter around – that should give you some indication how we get pushed around by his cronies. He’s a mob boss – a crook – no more, no less.
In my opinion – I’m glad as hell he has shown his true colors to more than just residents. I’m curious to see how many times the words mountaintop removal come up in the story. Especially since it is such a big issue with Blankenship at its heart.
The story is supposed to air on ABC News Monday the 7th.
Our remnants of wilderness will yield bigger values to the nation’s character and health than they will to its pocketbook, and to destroy them will be to admit that the latter are the only values that interest us. – Aldo Leopold

I’m glad you’re reporting these threats. A film maker friend of mine was shot dead in the 1960s for similar reasons. As for the lawyers’ letters, don’t believe it until it has been officially denied. In the US you have political jusges. Where I live we have SLAPP suits supported by good old British libel law: the truer the libel, the heavier the fine. Protesting citizens and environmental groups can be bankrupted.

Thanks for commenting David.
I wanted to comment and tell you I deleted your comment from the forum page. The only reason is because the site is still being set up and I never intended for comments on the back pages.
I hope you don’t take offense and you are more than welcome to put the comment here linking to your post. I did link to your article on the forum under the category Mountaintop Removal and on the board Awareness.
Thanks for the mention.

Well, that should be interesting to see. I hope someone puts the video of that news segment on You Tube.
