Turn the Lights Off Tonight……

Posted on March 29, 2008 | By | 3 Comments

Turn your lights off tonight from 8 to 9 p.m. as a show of solidarity for Earth Hour. This will also send a message to Big Coal that we, as a country, are committed to Energy Conservation, a term they do not like. Since their motto is “Coal Keeps the Lights On”, let’s turn the lights off!

Energy Conservation is a key component in the fight against MTR. Check out the Earth Hour link above, to find out more ways you can conserve energy. We all must do everything we can.

Our remnants of wilderness will yield bigger values to the nation’s character and health than they will to its pocketbook, and to destroy them will be to admit that the latter are the only values that interest us. – Aldo Leopold

Since taking up the battle to stop MTR it is amazing how much I think about “coal keeps the lights on”. Every time I turn on a light instead of hearing the click I hear “coal keeps the lights on”.

Needless to say – I’m sitting in the dark a lot.

i’m with ya, denny. i rarely turn the lights on during daylight hours at all. and we use oil lamps at the dinner table instead of turning the big overhead light on in the evening. it’s good to utilize the natural daylight as much as possible.

Side note – I’m glad you mentioned “coal keeps the lights on” as being the friends of coal motto. I think in all of my posts I have not mentioned that the first time. It probably would have made some of the posts make more sense.
